About THCF Medical Clinics
Who We Are
THCF Medical Clinics are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping qualified patients in Oregon and Washington State obtain legal authorization for medical marijuana. With a state-issued permit, patients may legally possess, use, and grow larger amounts of cannabis, purchase at discounted rates from dispensaries, access stronger extracts and edibles, and travel with cannabis.
Our Experience & History
Founded in Oregon in 1999, THCF expanded to Washington, Hawaii, Colorado, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Arizona, and California. Over the years, we have:
- Assisted 270,000+ patients in becoming legal medical marijuana cardholders
- Served patients in 60 cities with a network of 50 licensed physicians
- Produced the weekly TV program Cannabis Common Sense in Portland since 1996, with over 1,200 episodes as of April 2023
Medical Qualifications
Patients may qualify if diagnosed with conditions such as:
- Chronic pain, chronic nausea, PTSD
- AIDS, cancer, glaucoma, hepatitis
- Chronic muscle spasms, multiple sclerosis
- Seizure disorders (e.g., epilepsy)
- Gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., IBS, Crohn’s disease, inability to eat)
- Side effects from other medical treatments causing these symptoms
Our Process
Our physicians:
- Review medical records and conduct patient interviews
- Record physical information and prepare medical documentation
- Provide education on each patient’s condition, state laws, and cannabis treatment options
We also advise on:
- Accessing dispensary discounts, traveling with cannabis, and home cultivation (including seeds and starter plants)
- Alternatives to smoking (vaporizing, edibles)
- Full Extract Cannabis Oil (FECO/RSO) and cannabinoids such as THC, THCA, CBD, CBG, and CBN
- Terpenes and their therapeutic effects
